Utilizing the latest technology and feedback from almost 100 VariSource ID model users, Varian engineers designed the VariSource 200 Series HDR Afterloader to be the industry leader.

The drive system provides a force feedback and force mechanism device.
The source wire precisely measures the force required to advance the wire through a treatment channel.
The source determines whether the wire has met an obstruction or merely a constriction or tight bend. This offers the highest success ratio possible.
VariSource has the smallest source in the industry (0.59mm dia. x 5mm long), permitting use of needles as thin as 21 Gauge. This also allows the 4.7 Fr. endobronchial catheter to have a thick wall construction, virtually eliminating kinking.

Unique features include an ergonomically designed Indexer for precise connection of catheters to the Afterloader, and an internal CamScale™ System for accurate confirmation of wire positional accuracy, eliminating the need for auto-radiographs or repeated trips into the treatment room. Also included are multiple wire position sensors, an on-board radiation detector, an emergency retract system, and back-up power.

With its motorized transportability, the VariSource 200t can be easily moved to a surgical suite in another location.

With the optional 200t motorized transportable configuration, you gain all the advantages of the Varian SmartSeed system while maximizing utilization. You can easily move the system from one site to another, in one trip. The cart contains the control console and treatment planning system, complete with a film scanner and plot device. Just connect to the network at your destination, and you're ready to go with full CT-based, 3D conformal SmartSeed plans and treatments, in a matter of minutes.
