Model 9116 Isocentric Beam Checker II

Description:The Model 9116 multifunctional Isocentric Beam Checker II (IBC II) is a precision quality assurance tool for daily, weekly or monthly quality assessments of all mechanical and geometrical treatment parameters of linear accelerators or teletherapy units.

The IBC II is designed to easily and accurately check collimator isocentricity, gantry isocentricity, table isocentricity, collimator field size accuracy, radiation/light field congruence, isocenter rotational stability, ODI accuracy and laser light alignments.
It consists of a large opaque acrylic screen backed by a secondary plate, both supported by an acrylic base and side supports. The screen is inscribed with lines precisely defining the corners, edges and center of the screen’s 2 mm x 2 mm, 5 cm x 5 cm, 10 cm x 10 cm, 15 cm x 15 cm and 20 cm x 20
cm fields. Intersecting center lines are inscribed with short lines spaced 1 cm apart. The screen can rotate about its axis in increments of 45˚. Tungsten markers of 2 mm diameter are imbedded in the center and corners of the fields. A ten inch by twelve inch ready-pack film can be sandwiched between the two plates. When exposed, the tungsten markers project a sharp image on the film eliminating inaccuracy and the
need of pricking holes into the film. To rotate the screen, simply hold both left and right knobs together while turning them simultaneously. When turned 45˚, the screen seats
itself accurately and automatically; thus repositioning is accomplished easily and quickly.

The base features non-slip 3-point leveling pads and a bubble level, allowing it to be set up for use quickly and conveniently.
The Isocentric Beam Checker II is shipped fully assembled.

   3D water Phantoms

Description: Large size motorized 3D water phantom for automatic dose distribution measurement of radiation therapy beams

  • Largest 3D water tank on the market with up to 600 mm detector moving range
  • Includes a precision 3D stainless steel moving mechanism
  • Includes three stepper motors for a detector positioning speed of 50 mm/s and a positioning accuracy of ± 0.1 mm
  • Stable 20 mm thick acrylic walls and etched lines for precise tank alignment

The large MP3 water tank is suitable for very large field measurements. Beam incidence may be vertical, horizontal or oblique. The horizontal detector moving range is 600 mm x 500 mm and the vertical range is 407.5 mm. The 20 mm thick acrylic walls and bottom do not bulge during prolonged period of use and feature etched lines for precise tank alignment. Precision stepper motors are mounted close above the tank making it possible to adjust distances between the LINAC head and the water surface as small as 120 mm. They provide for high detector moving speed of 50 mm/s and high positioning accuracy of ± 0.1 mm. In contrast to analog drives, stepper motor drives do not require regular recalibrations. Stainless steel drive mechanics are used to minimize water perturbation and to preserve positioning accuracy during movement. They do not disturb or affect the measurement accuracy. The tank is supplied with a quick release coupling to connect the water reservoir T43163 easily. The delivery includes a cable connection box mounted to the tank, a spirit level and an ion chamber-adjusting device. To operate the tank, MEPHYSTO software and TBA electronics are required.

Description:

  • Solid Acrylic (Virtual Water™) Ion Chamber Slab has six cavities for thimble ion chamber measurement. The diameter of each cavity is 19 mm. Solid acrylic (Virtual Water) plugs are included to fill the cavities for simulated patient thickness. One solid acrylic (Virtual Water™) plug is drilled for the ion chamber of choice. A bone equivalent plug is included for bone simulation of heterogeneity measurements.
  • Solid Acrylic (Virtual Water™) Blank Slab is a solid slab to provide simulated patient build-up material. Four 2 mm steel balls are imbedded in the slab as reference markers for 3D orientation of film on TPS.
  • Solid Acrylic (Virtual Water™) Lung Slab has two cavities for simulated lung inserts, two cylindrical cavities for thimble ion chamber placement and a set of two tissue equivalent lung inserts for lung simulation. Optional Acrylic inserts REF 70052 (Virtual Water™ inserts REF 70053) convert the Lung Slab into a solid slab.
